Though the 1st two links didn&amp;#39;t worked for download of the patch but the 3rd link mentioned in the solution worked for me. I&amp;#39;d checked with Intel people as well, they were also not able to resolve the problem. On a Win XP Pro (re-)install (SP2) on a Lenovo T60 Thinkpad, normally I would have installed the device drivers first and the problem wouldn&amp;#39;t have arisen. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But didn&amp;#39;t think and installed MS updates first (incl SP3) without finishing installing all the drivers first. and then found I couldn&amp;#39;t install the Audio drivers because the Soundmax driver wanted the KB888111 installed first. And that (MS download was offline so got from Lenovo site) wouldn&amp;#39;t install as it thought it wasn&amp;#39;t needed. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Tricking it into thinking SP2 was installed worked.
